Farid Hardja Went Easy Listening

The late Farid Hardja began his career under common popular music. He introduced a new style of dancing (at least among Indonesian TV viewers) by repeatedly hitting his feet at the ground.

Back then, he was still slim enough.

Here is “Karmila” (a girl name, 11 years of age)

Continued in the following album, with a song entitled: “Milarka” (the same girl changing her name)

“Telaga Sagawarna” — Not the main hits, but the memory lasts.

TrIbute for an adorable national hero: General Soedirman, the father of Indonesian military.

“Pahlawan Soedirman”

Finally going easy listening. Perhaps by commercial considerations. This kind of music sells easier.

Anyway, to me, he is one of the songwriters with good musical character. His songs give magic.
