From Germany, they submitted 1 year visa to stay in Indonesia for a while — 2 months as previously planned.

Now they have been staying in Indonesia for nearly 1 year, and the visa is about to expire.

Should they extent the visa for 1 more year, or should they return to German? They haven’t been sure yet about which one to choose.

They do miss their parents and grand parents, along with Germany related stuff: good facilities of health & education etc., especially for their two little sons’ future.

The problem is, they predicted the life in Germany would be hard. Prices and living cost will be higher than before, especially before the war between Russia and Ukraine. While the availability of good job for them in Germany will not be guaranteed.

Even before deciding to stay for a while in Indonesia back then, they had been struggling so hard to make ends meet.

Meanwhile… During their stay in Indonesia, they have benefited a lot of good things with quite ease, because their “some” € savings from Germany have much better value for Indonesia’s Rupiah. (1 € or 1 US $ for a nice, nutritious lunch is just a common thing).

They have built boarding house with quite many rooms for rent, bought personal home, make YouTube videos, perhaps do another business.

If problems occured, that’s life, but the rest is all about enjoying Indonesia. From food to traveling, those are easy things. (even they periodically help out their family members in need). In short, concerning the financial capability, their life resembles rich men’s in Germany, with much more relaxing way.

Return to Germany or stay more time in Indonesia?

If they were you, which one would you decide?

In case Catholics hold a big ceremony, they can park their cars at the Mosque parking lot and then they can walk to the cathedral conveniently through the tunnel.
