Polaris Orientation is Not Sufficient: A Lot of Sailors and Cargo got Lost in the beginning of Intercontinent Sailings

Polaris maybe useful for defining the North direction. But not necessarily for the right path towards the destination. North is actually dinamic, every place has its own North.

Long distance sailings with straight path, either westwards or eastwards, gives shifting of latitude because the latitude and longitude grids are curved as shown at the picture below. img_20190119_194157
